Studies For A Victorious Life
Why These Studies?
Understanding The Purpose
Jesus uses WCTLC to help you learn how to walk and talk with Him all day long. If you are willing, He will talk to you through the WCTLC studies and prayer times. He will also help you spend time with Him all during your day. The truths you looked at are very relevant to your life. They aren’t just Bible studies, so you can just get to know your Bible. They deal with what you will be facing in your life.
There are Bible reading programs that help you get familiar with the contents of the Bible. They are very good programs that make the Bible come alive, help you know how it all fits together, and helps you know what all is in it. But, all of it is in there, so you can start taking advantage of it. James 4:17 (NIV) Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.
Understanding The Relationship
Jesus says in Revelation 3:20 (NIV) “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.” Do you see how He waits for you to open the door? Mat 11:28 (NIV) Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. This is a constant theme in the Bible. Jesus waits until you make the first move, before He responds to you.
Luke 6:47 (NIV) I will show you what he is like who comes to Me and hears My words and puts them into practice. You could obey this verse, because Jesus said it, and that would be good. But, Jesus isn’t looking for what you can do for Him. He wants you to be looking for what He can do for you. That sounds selfish; but, Jesus said in John 15:5 (NIV): “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.
You may be hearing a lot of sermons, reading a lot of good Christian books, and spending time discussing and reading the Bible. But, has it ever happened to you, where you were supposed to be living a certain way and weren’t? You need Jesus, so you can live the Christian life. Every thing you do for Jesus will because He first did it in and through you. Anything different will be human effort and will turn into pride.
Learning How To Live It
It Is Through Coming To Jesus
Mat 7:24 (NIV) Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. You can see that Jesus expects you to come to Him, hear His words, and put them into practice. And, we all want to do that. But, how? The studies and prayers in the books and on the website are all about Jesus taking you through the Scriptures that teach you how to put His words into practice.
It’s Not Through Trying Real Hard
James 4:1-2 (NIV) What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. What if you learned how to ask God for everything? And, what if you learned how to ask Him for the right things?

What Do You Want To Be Best At?
What should you learn? What should you believe? What is true? One of the main issues in life is that there doesn’t seem to be a life-manual. You come into this life and have humans, who aren’t having all that much success in life themselves, trying to teach you. Many of them, if you went home with them, you would never listen to them again.
Most of us know the Bible has the answers to life. But, by the time you get it mastered, you have already messed up a lot of your life. One of the first things we major in is how to be a human and how to live the human life. A lot of time is spent trying to be the very best human you can be. But, Jesus wants you to use this life to learn how to be a mature, successful, trained, talented, skilled, and experienced child of God.
The Child Of God Manual
Rom 8:13-14 (NIV) For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Jesus wants to teach you how to ask for all the truths in these studies and prayers, so you can be led by His Spirt, and so you can live as a child of God. Through asking, you will be able to put to death the misdeeds of the body.
All of these things are vital to your life, as a child of God. With Jesus’ teaching and power, you will learn all these things and be empowered to live them. It isn’t confusing; Jesus will make all of Christianity very simple for you. He has a teaching system that works better than anything you have ever experienced in all of your life.
What Is Success?
Evaluating The Meaning
The world teaches you about life and how to succeed at it. Everywhere you go you are told to have self-confidence, self-esteem, and to believe in yourself. You are told that you can be anything you want to be; all you have to do is believe that all things are possible.
You see all kinds of people using human and world teachings and through them getting money, possessions, popularity, positions, power, pleasure, prestige, and accomplishments. You may have looked at them and assumed they have found happiness, fulfillment, satisfaction, peace, and life success; but, have they? Are they winning at life? Or, are they missing their whole purpose for being here?
Choosing The Best Life-System
You see some very “successful” people commit suicide, get hooked on drugs, get sent to prison, have multiple divorces, have children who don’t love or respect them, spend a lot of time in court being accused of all kinds of wrong and bad things, and have spent most, if not all their time, with their career rather than with the important people in their life.
There is a big difference between the principles that Jesus teaches and what the schools, magazines, television programs, internet, and the books you read, that the world teaches you. When you read or listen to Jesus’ teachings and compare them with popular beliefs, it seems easy to use the world system and difficult to follow Jesus’ teachings. If you read the Bible and think Jesus expects you to obey it through your own strength, you will get discouraged.
